This image caught my eye during class today. We were going over feminist art, this is always a fun topic. I love seeing art done by woman, especially when the art is creating a message that is easy to relate to.
Barbara Kruger is the artist of this picture. The image stood out because of the message it is sending out. The message is that woman are sometimes looked at to be " not enough". Not pretty enough, not smart enough, not sexy enough, not silly enough, but enough is enough ladies.
Trying to be enough by another persons standards will only lead you into the wrong direction of defining who you are. Trying to be enough for someone else can be exhausting and have very little benefits, if not being enough means going to extremes trying to be enough for someone else, and not doing it for your self seems like the right thing, its not!
If you want to be more you should be doing so due to your own goals, it makes sense to want to expand who you are, it is a good thing to try new things, and be who you want to and do whatever you want. If you think you are funny enough, sexy enough, serious enough, then guess what you are. You are beucase it is your own measurements of what being enough is.
